Dedicated to the father of modern psionics, this secret society exists to foster contacts between those gifted with psionic abilities on Aegis. Because membership in the society is based solely on whether one is gifted with psionic abilities without regard to alignment, the group does not really have a set “agenda.” Its goals do include opposing those bent on eliminating or enslaving Psions, Wildlings and Psychic Warriors, such as The Order of Wizards and Magi. Their mission is also one of education, to those who do not understand or are hostile to Psi-practitioners, such as The Society. It is rumored that Avanjion was once a mortal man who gained divinity from The Myst, the Goddess of Magic. Now that psionics is in its infancy upon Aegis, those who possess its power are feared, hated and abused. They form small circles of close friends, shunning all others. They fear to congregate in large numbers.
Yet they are coming together slowly to keep their numbers safe. The Disciples are forming the beginnings of a structured hierarchy and the foundations for a legitimate church. The Disciples strongest holding at this point is the Eldritch city Nathar-Ryn. It is a free and open city of the Elven Alliance, and capital city of the Nation of Nathyria. The city has openly recognized their organization and has legitimized the foundations of the Church of Avanjion, This may be in part due to the myth that Avanjion has a history with this city. Even with this legitimization the organization has been slow to rush into things. They have taken the slow and steady path towards common recognition and acceptance, which will evidently take several generations to accomplish.
