The Others

Now as the Age of Air is in full swing another type of magical practitioner has emerged, with powers that seem similar to sorcerers. The people are called ‘The Others’.  They are not priests, magi or sorcerers; they practice the Art of Psi. Psychics & Mindbenders they are called.

All practitioners of magic dislike them because it is not magic which they practice.  Their art is more difficult to defend against, more difficult to penetrate and not subject to the same laws that magic is bound to; luckily that their numbers are far and few between.  There are no known schools that teach and harbor these individuals, with the exception of the Temple of The Mind in Nathar-Ryn.

The Others mostly exist in an underground fashion.  They develop their powers by themselves, quietly, secretly.  Those peoples who do know that these individuals have powers mostly think that they are just some kind of warlock spellcaster.  Mages actively hunt them down; Sorcerers will just as likely destroy them as to form close bonds with them.  The lives of the Others seem lonely and isolated in comparison to those of normal folk.

Very few Psi-practitioners have reached levels of wealth and power, those that have used their powers to gain such status, yet not to reveal themselves, not to face the open wrath of The Order, or the hidden scheming of The Society.  They seem to have no group, no cohesiveness; but maybe in time a leader will emerge for them.
