The Cloaks

The Cloaks are a clandestine organization that works in various kingdoms, principalities & nations to protect the families and politicians of their homeland.  Their Creed “From the Shadows, to the Dark!”, meaning that they strike from the shadows putting those who oppose their guarded families into the Darkness of Death. The motive and methodology of the order are highly suspect and questionable.  Why do they serve particular families, which are mostly noble or royal lineages. Yet it has been heard of that the order has been in the service of peasants, brigands and even tribal humanoids.  Their tactics are that of spies and assassins.  They can be anywhere at anytime but no one knows if a member is lurking in the shadows or right in plain site.  This fact has produced a fair amount of paranoia within the political arenas of the courts of the land.  While they are in service to particular families they are not necessarily at their beck and call, but yet sometimes they are or can be persuaded to be.  Their activities, while whispered about, can only be theorized about their intention and meaning.
